Programs

The Dilworth Soup Kitchen & Pantry has expanded its range of programs over the years to help address food insecurity in the area and provide increased support to people and families in need in our local community.  Our major programs are:

  • Lunches. We are now a Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry, serving 200+ free takeout lunches every Monday and Friday of the year from 11 a.m. until noon. We serve more than 21,000 lunches every year.

  • Non-Perishable Foods.  Thanks in large part to our community partners, we provide a broad range of canned goods and non-perishables to our guests every Monday and Friday. We provide more than 50,000 pounds of canned goods and non-perishables every year.

  • Fresh Groceries. We provide fresh groceries every Friday and Monday. On Fridays we also provide 50 bags of fresh groceries, including meat, dairy, vegetables and fruit for our guests. This helps sustain them until they can return for their next meal. We provide more than 45,000 pounds of fresh groceries to our guests every year.

  • Food Pantry. Registered guests can now make an appointment to visit our Food Pantry the first and third Wednesday of every month.  We provide five days of food to our guests including frozen meats and fish, dairy, vegetables and non-perishables for their families.
